Annual Meeting










The Edinburgh meeting was held at the Assembly Rooms and the Annual Dinner at Dynamic Earth


Thank you to all our host Mr Alan Mulvihill from Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, speakers, chairman, exhibitors, delegates for a fantastic meeting in Edinburgh.  We had a record number of delegates attending over the three days.  Thank you to our two named lecturers for providing such wonderful and inspiring talks

Annual Abstract Prizes


This year BIPOSA awarded two abstract prizes:

Helen Kuht, Research Orthoptist at the University of Leicester for an abstract entitled "Using artificial intelligence to distinguish between normal and abnormal development of the fovea'

Jigs Mehta, Lecturer in Orthoptics at the University of Liverpool for an abstract entitled 'Visual function risk factors for falls in older adults'


Free Paper Prizes


This year's free paper prizes were awarded to:

Lana Fu, Trainee at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital for her paper "Long-Term Results of Accelerated Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking for Paediatric Keratoconus: Single Centre Study”

Helen Kuht, Research Orthoptist at The University of Leicester for her paper "Using artificial intelligence to distinguish between normal and abnormal development of the fovea"


Best Orthoptic Students


This year BIPOSA was pleased to support trainee orthoptists from the UK's three university departments. The outstanding student prizes were awarded to:
